Exhaust mod on perdana v6

So i guess its just the battery water cause after i topup no more warning at all.
One thing i notice about using shell, engine quieter but less power, if use motul, the tepet sound louder but more power and better millage. My next mission is to put e manage :D, hope can really feel the difference in terms of power

I had the exact same problem when i was using auto and 17 inch, after 190 no more power unless go downhill lol. So im guessing its the rims or the gearbox and did you mod your exhaust?.. well im using the same rims after i change manual and can hit 220-230. And may i ask, how much hp does the auto tranny actually produce?

your batt should be ok.....as long its not the radiator.....althought both are 10w40. but motul is thinner hence the tappet sound will appear.....

auto gears is 222 flywheel 8.5 " so top speed not that great...if 312 or 332 manual tranny can go up to 250++ kmh. for twin turbo le....if n/a about 220kmh.

hi hex999

yes i did some piping works but the end muffler using stock as for the back pressure. about HP .. before was 144WHP and after tuned manage to get 150WHP. its very sad on the end power and im still stuck ..

thinking of changing to manual bt the cost still a bomb for me.. hope there will be some reason why i can get my top. :(

Bro danzeterna,

means thats the limit for standard autobot? or can i do something with my GB.. any pro and cons?

Maybe gotta send your car to a exhaust specialist who knows what his doing, gotta mod your exhaust system for top speed(more power in high revs), just a suggestion, it also could be other factors, like your spark plugs, or some other internal parts that needs cleaning. A friend of mine told me that he changed his spark plug to iridium and his top speed became higher.. i dont know alot about cars so get more advice from experts :D

actually this setup is done by a well experienced shop bro .. so i guess the piping setting should be ok already. about the plugs, yes changed it also .. hahaha .. dont know why i always face this kinda issues one .. haha

i did install m7 emcom (emanage) on my v6 .. gained about 7HP extra after tuned. have to agree that i feel a small diff on my ride.. bt the sad thing is that my v6 can go up to 180-19 only .. thats max .. with only 1 people inside .. using 17" rim only .. very sad on it ..

3rg gear .. 170 shift at 6.8K rpm to 4th gear that up to 180 only. RPM drop by 2.5K after shift .. any advice guys? btw do advice me a correct thread

car is auto btw
previously my standard v6 auto with 17" taiwan rims and 3 people inside can go up to 220kmh. i feel can go more but run out of clear road.
did u do any other mods?

Yo guys, im planning to use e-manage for my v6 but was wondering does it really improve fuel economy and power?
I also wanted tried a different engine oil, using shell-helix 10w40 and i find that my engine fuel consumption is a bit higher and less acceleration compared to motul 10w40, forgot exactly whats the name but i guess motul is better for me.. another question i wanted to ask is yesterday was cruising at full speed from KL to JB for around 2 hours from 180kmh to 210kmh 4 guys in car and a bit heavy load... and at the end of the journey i notice my battery light was on, so i quickly off my radio, ac and put dimmer lights.. i also went and added battery water after that.. than the light was gone.. i though there was something from with the alternator.. so today went to the mechanic and they said theres nothing wrong with the alternator.. they use some device and test on the battery voltage, they also took out the battery while the engine was running and they said nothing wrong.. so im kinda confuse. What do you guys think is wrong?

Bro how long you sustain from 180km/h to 210km/h? And how about ur FC?

But bro, my fren on stock auto gb using 18" taiwan rims can go up to 210km/h when tested and when he converted to manual he can hit 225km/h.. So i guess the engine health also plays apart and as well as the rims.. how wide ur 17" if i may ask? Too wide also will cause too many drag i guess..correct me if i'm wrong..

Like i've mentioned bro.. piping got no problem.. bro you try use back ur stock rim see got different or not? hehe.. maybe can hit 210km/h.. haha..:driver:

Bro how long you sustain from 180km/h to 210km/h? And how about ur FC?

For around 2 hours, let my car rest for 15 mins after 1 hour drive than continue for another hour, wanted to show my friend the v6 can hit 220 easily but infront always got car lol. I think all that continuously rembat made by alternator tired, using a recon one. FC was around 38xkmh, RM80 RON95, FC was much better with motul engine oil. And was on gear 5 all the while.

Well for my problem i doubt is was the engine health, cause after changing to manual tranny than all was ok, but i think my problem was the muffler and rims when i was on auto, used taiwan rims low profiles, and a bigger muffler with s flow, i notice my car lack of power during low RPM but more power at high, so if going up a hill at low RPM, sometimes walk on bare foot also faster lol :D
But at that time my auto gearbox also slipping alot when cold, was wondering does a spoil gearbox affects top speed.

spoiled gb sure will affect everything.
and also too big exhaust or muffler will effect low and mid torque.
top speed should be ok.
how big is your exhaust diameter? how big is your muffler inlet diameter?

dont know, last time main pasaing only lol,
my current muffler the inner diameter is 2.5inch, how ever the tip is 4.0inch, does the large tip effect the performance?

nope. it's the inlet (lubang masuk) diameter plays the role.
the outlet diameter can put big big also nevermind if the inlet and inner is not as big as that.

but i think 2.5" is too big for NA.
i think the max piping size for NA manual should be 2.3" inner diameter (diameter dalam).
outer diameter (diameter luaran) sometimes depends on the thickness of the piping, stainless steel or alu should be nipis and normal steel should be a bit thicker.
just measure the inner diameter..

My piping is 2.3 inch, just the mufler inlet is 2.5, is that alright? stated the build on my first post
NA is more sensitive to exhaust system compared to turbo..
try getting a 2.3" muffler swap with your 2.5" muffler..

Alright bro, tomorrow ill go get that changed in ampang, the same shop i did the previous piping, i came across this, and i notice that the 2.5 inch and the 2.3 inch really has a big difference. So ill just change my mufler to a 2.3 inch inlet, can recommend any good brands? Another thing i notice when low rpm, low torque but after 4000 rpm, alot of torque, i guess it could be because of the mufler.
Will also change my extractor this time, so the extractor also put 2.3 inch? the extractor is the one with 6 pipes right? how much would it roughly cost?

And some people say the stock piping for the auto pv6 is 2.2 inch, some say 1.8 inch, which is correct?

ur extractor is standard rite? no need to change if u dont have the money.
just leave it like that. if u have money, get those Hotbits extractor.
found a fella selling v6 extractor just like Hotbits in ZTH..
if u want to custom also can..
but just do this first : after the flexi pipe (nenas), use 2.3" (inner diameter) pipe sampai muffler. muffler also put 2.3" inlet.

v6 NA engine max torque is at 4500rpm. that's why u feel after 4000rpm its pulling the best..

i've also measured the stock piping. cant remember exactly but i think its around 1.8-1.9" inner diameter.
we use only the inner diameter. outer diameter can be big depending on the thickness of the metal..

Thanks for the advice bro, really appreciate it. Yeah my current piping after the nenas is 2.3, i just made a mistake last time to put the 2.5 inlet mufler instead of the 2.3, i did not know it would cause a power loss at low RPM. I got some extra cash for the extractor, will change it as as well

so u just need to change the muffler la.
get those ori Japan mufflers like this http://www.mudah.my/Blitz+Nur+Spec+2+3+inch-14143914.htm
and if u can, bring a vernier caliper to measure the inner diameter of those muffler. (i always have a vernier caliper n hand to measure. hehe..)
and also, as always with mudah transaction, COD with seller..

extractor if u want to custom make, make the pipe same length.
like Hotbits, or Powerzone extractor which are tuned-length extractor.
the seller in ZTH : Perdana V6 extractor

Done with the muffler, now using a 2.3 inlet muffler with a slightly bigger silencer, slightly better pickup at lower RPM compared to the old one, old muffler picture on my first post. Changing the extractor takes alot of time, so decided not to do it for now also quite costly.

sorry for the blur image, took from my friends phone.

and i wanted to ask your guys opinion behalf of my friends myvi, is it ok to use a modded bigger exhaust piping with a stock air filter? And it is ok to use a true muffler flow for an auto setup? What are the side effects?

thanks alot, really glad that a community like this existed.

if u have the time, why dont u go dyno? hehe..
can see how ur car is doing in terms of torque and power.

like what we read from exhaustvideos, there should be calculations on what's the proper size of piping depending on the size of engine and also intake.
ur fren can go bigger but agak2 la the size.
stock air filter change to a better flow one like K&N or HKS or Apexi or Blitz

straight flow muffler can be used for auto BUT its not good for gear kickdown on cruising.
meaning, u are cruising 100kmh @ 4th gear and wanna overtake a car, u slam the accelerator to the but the gearbox only change down to lower gear after awhile.
i've experienced this myself. hehe..
for pickup from standstill, its good..
