Hi guys,

Just wondering any comment on this. All fully syntetic.

Redline, Torco & Motul. Which one is better in terms of performance & reliablity?

I tried Torco and Motul, both good. Just get the right viscosity for your engine :)

Ooo. Then if a stock BT engine, better to use fully syntetic or semi syntetic will do?

Fully syntetic can be use on engine that been overhaul?

Only 3 of them? I will vote for Motul lo.... LOLzzzz , because it branded... :P
I normally use the endless oil only... Never had change to buy an over pricing oil... lolzzzz

for sure go for torco but very exspensive..10/40 oil price near rm250 for 1 litre x 4 bottle..sr5 if i not mistaken la...motul price only around rm145 for 4 litre..

Heard that Torco is much more better than Motul. How about Redline? Better than Torco & Motul?

Go for the best, fully synthetic :) In general 10/40 is suitable for your engine..

These brand are more to personal preference. Let me tell you what i experience thru.

Started with Redline, back then as a student where money per litre is very important. Cheapest Fully Synthetic lubricant compare to Motul . Didn't notice any differences between Redline and fully synt oil (Helix Ultra) But i do notice, the oil doesn't get dirty that fast (about 1000km for a turbo car) only it turn brownish before black dirt. Take note, NA not so fast degrade.

Budget went up, work part time already. Now start look at the super famous Motul. Always a dream to try 300v and start my little shopping. Painfully, for once, try the 300v (forget what grade) for about 400 bucks. Can feel the engine not so harsh after a week (can't feel any difference on the same day) . Throttle lessen (not sure is it because i paid so much and it played with my mind) . But one thing for sure, the gearbox oil FF LSD is a GL5 as compare with Redline and my hand definately can feel the smoothness of the gear shifting instantaneous.

Been loyal to Motul for a while (4-5 years suppose) till i was recommended a new one call Torco. Have doubt initially, as the price is cheaper than Motul and not so famous in Asia Pacific region. Founded in 1950, was a popular brand among Royal purple & Lucas Oil while in the states. Most of the drag car uses this brand (i think la) . Price point cheaper per litre and guess what, the gearbox oil is a GL6 specs as compare to Motul. So, gave it a try and whoolaa .. (using Torco SGO) a very happy face customer and i change all my cars to Torco immediately (costing me at least >1k)

As usual, my gauge is always my very hand. It feel smoother on gear to gear change and eliminated less roughness on my synchromesh (my C56 3rd gear got problem that time) . On my other car, it has the same feeling as well. Contemplating to try the engine oil, i made my move for SR5 series after reading Temple Of Vtec forum (dyno chart was posted before and after) . Furthermore, per litre is cheaper by 20% +- compare to 300v easily. First thing, notice the engine braking were not so much already (rely more on brakes, as foretold by mr Tang aka Torco distributor) . A hard to believe thing, bring it to dyno and yes, my midrange has risen as well.

From there (2 years ago) till now, been recommending Torco to my friends and it serve them the same smile i get previously.

Juz my 2 cents experience :)

thanks for the info km__chew....Good info.

Will try out the torco engine oil & LSD oil. By the way, heard that the Torco gear oil is a normal oil where need to buy a extra addictive oil to add in to make it LSD oil. Am I right ???

Walao eh... You think it worth?
Let's say:
I use Endless 10/40 4 liter = RM 90, Torco 4 liter= RM 450
So mean i can use Endless for 5 time and = to 45,000 km already. But yours Torco only 5000 km...
If you feel it not comfortable degrade faster... You may change every 3000 km ar.... End up you still save alot...

unless you will go for track....

Just want to chime in a cent or two, personally I swear by Motul 300V and so does my tuner.

Been using it since day #1 and until something better comes along it will be the only engine oil that will go in and out from my car's engine.

I was using Mobil 1 and Torco SR-5 in the past before I switched, and I never looked back. But I've never used Redline before so I can't comment.

Pricey maybe some will say? Yes, but I think you get what you paid for. It's worth it.

Probably if anyone here as any information such as oil analysis between the oils mentioned and their ester content would be good.

Just to share who is also using Motul 300V exclusively in the rest of the world:

  • PRODrive
  • Formula Renault
  • Subaru World Rally Team
  • Japan GT Nismo
  • Honda Mugen Team
  • Ferarri 550 Maranello
  • Le Mans 24H
  • Formula 3000
  • FIA GT
  • French GT
  • Porsche GT
Brief History of Motul 300V
Motul 300V is Motul's premium top of the line fully synthetic engine oil with Double Ester Technology, and the entire range of oils were co-developed with the engineers of NISMO, Motul and Honda Mugen Japan GT Teams as well as the Subaru World Rally Team.

Torco addictive is Type - F for JDM car. Type - E for Continental (if i'm not mistaken).

Price per litre worth it or not, it depend on each person. You may change your oil every 500km with a mineral oil, and end up everytime is a fresh brown new oil. Still cheaper than Rm400 for 5000km.

Honestly, the price for 4 litre Torco, is very expensive to me too. I can settle down a semi synt for Rm100 and use it the same way. Engine oil is an endless debate world. Some even say, Mobil 1 is the best and even better than Motul. That's why, my header start with personal preference.

Dyno it, you understand why i'm convinced by Torco. That is my facts and my personal preference for Torco Oil. Before i made a switch, i select it very carefully just like any forummers here. I don't swear by Torco, if Motul made a better lube, i will switch over as well.

Another reference and good read up is, http://asia.vtec.net/advertisers/Torco/index1.html
API Rating about GL6, Gear oil - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Motul (1953 - French), http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motul_(company)
Torco (1948 - USA), http://www.torcousa.com/swf/about-bg.html

Both brand got a long history of multigrade, technology. Dyno it, and see the figure (words from mr Tang and i vouch for it till Motul got a better lube)

Cheers

wat if put sperm o Ky inside?...cabut....

Pity lor,
- it will face such high oil pressure
- rub against piston ring and cylinder wall
- if piston ring loose, sip into the burning chamber and get compress by such mighty force
- then get burn / explosion / oxide
- exit thru exhaust fume

Dunno still got any DNA trace left from it or not.. maybe make the AF richer in protein? :stupid:
