I juz bought the 1.7 Vtec civic... I juz curious how we can test our VTEC is function or not? How we can test it? Or any guide can use for testing... Because i found out some of the website said that the ECU problem can't open the VTEC... something like that...

Another question is this type of civic can use RON95 ? Or only can use Ron97?

this model is the starting of the era of tall sedan cars for Honda... unlike the previous civic models which are sleek n low rider.. n the accords are also sharing same low height ride...
this car is more comfy n ease to enter n exit the doors... the first time i rode in this car.. it has a different feel n different ergonomics... after that the birth of tall sedan cars started to spawn till this day.. from city,jazz,accord..

Toyota also starts of with their Altis which follows the architecture high body design from the great Altezza....

Just a question, do you service your car at Honda SC?

It's a great place to test your VTEC, you can be-friend the mechanic who is servicing your car and get him to run a diagnostics test for VTEC mechanism. It's something like a click sound when the test is running.

Bro, I not service my car at Honda SC.. because the warranty is over d... if like that, am I still can go to Honda sc to test the VTEC? How they test the VTEC and it will cost how much if wan to test it? Thanks...

i tried to rev over 4400rpm, hardly feel any difference.....mayb go honda SC test out better

hie guys, im new here on zth.. was searching for 2001 civic es owners.. baru jumpa.. =). im also driving around in 1.7vtec civic... but was thinking to upgrade to the 2.0ivtec 2004 model... any advice? or i was thinking drop in the 2.0ivtec engine from integra dctype s... ade auto and manual transmission skali... tapi tatau laa bole ke tak... hehe.

heloo, i also driving with the 1.7 vtec civic yr 2001 stock, is getting old and just change the front absorber...
my machanic said the gb is almost time, just waiting time to go nia...
so did any civic gb can go into this civic (how does call it, EM2, ES1, EP3, EU1 coz i search in wiki, just know is 2001 yr...mine is auto gb, if got civic model gb can be put it will be better or mayb manual gb...

but currently my bro driving it, and he planned to facelift it to 04 or 05 version or the ES...
erm how much the cost for the facelift, front bumpers, headlight, grill, bonnet, fenders, rear bumper, rear light, and rear trunk?

Hi,

Just share some information... I just go Honda service centre to tested my VTEC. It show 3.5k the VTEC solenoid valve already On. It means that 1.7 VTEC D17A2 is kick in at 3.5k RPM.

install rear disc, if your car don't have any.

i saw one ES in use car today, 65k, with ori brembo + Dc5 rim 5 lugs..but front bumper broken a bit, the driver must be a street racer :p
