i think rpm 5500+-...
coz when my rpm reach there, can hear vtec open since i'm using open pod a/f...
but the sound not very syiok compared to dohc laaa.... :lol:

auto i think can rev up to 6K unless u try D3 and rev it untill revcut...

if the stop wheel is not running when u rev is until around 5k. when moving, than can go until red line.

i'm using 15'rims. just change a air filter and whole set of ekzos only. can easily tapau proton 1.6(m)single cam.

I read this review on the HKS SOHC VTEC Turbo.

From the dyno and review, it says that for local SO4 auto, VTec opens at 4500rpm.

Anyone can verified this?

some import model EK3 1.6sohc vtec multi matic don have vtec word on the vavle cover.

local civic vtec got speed cut or not? :unsure:

S_04's car can go beyond 180km/h most likely because he installed RSM. ppl who can go above 180 probably have RSM or pivot speed meter installed. these gadgets remove speed cuts.

but my speedometer are a lil unaccurate..

im scared of speed..till 140 then letgo the pedal..:D

mine is a local s04..got vtec writing on the cam cover..
is it really vtec..cos i cant hear any sound of vtec opens or not..

tkb30, u just need to feel the rush of speed when your vtec opens. not necessary mind blowing acceleration but you'll feel a slight urge in moving forward as the RPM climbs as compared to other engines whereby the car loses acceleration as they near redline. besides, even with stock exhaust, you can hear a slight different exhaust note as you enter vtec zone.

samson2266, i don't know about 4500rpm but certainly my SOHC VTEC does pickup revs after 5500 rpm.

as for fuel consumption. after hearing from u guys that has really bad fuel consumption, i pumped full tank 2 days ago and start to rev really hard at every opportunity just to "find out" how bad the consumption can get. and yes, my meter shows 160km travelled and the fuel gauge shows alittle below half indication. i'd estimate i can travel till about 330km before the light comes on. however, normally i can easily do about 430 to 450 for a full tank. this shows that heavy revving till vtec really affects your fuel consumption considerably high.

i think my previous ride kancil turbo got much more faster pickup then my S04..but the acceleration after 4k rpm really can tapao my turbo kancil.....i think*

is it ok when starting ur drive at D3 or 2??or just pedal through D4 all the way??

mine one ORI EJ7, RM45 can go for 450km.....if highway can go to 500km.... :lol:
