What's the spec of your old rims? still with you??

I mix front and back with my friend. Staggered setup Front 7.5j Rear 9j.

If front 9j, it rubs the fender cuz the offset is too outwards

Oh..I thought you want to sell your old rims....interested that's why i asked..

Yeah, i thought of selling also but seems the front is too aggressive for my liking so since its the same design i can keep 2 front ones and widened the rear only...i like how aggressive the front looks but have to do fender roll and pull and remove the lining...For a new car i don't think i wanna do so much just to accommodate the wheels. so the most okay solution is to stagger it...now looking for 5mm hub centric slip-on spacer

Bro, No extra stock le bro... Finishing up my own cans now.

On behalf of Infinity.Melvin, here are his wheels

IMO, easier to spray with wheels off but with wheels on you don't have to jack up the car...whichever more convenient.

After the rubber cures in 48hours, it should mould to shape and hardened. Kinda like a sleeve or heat shrink and will be semi-permanent. In U.S, the dipped wheels may last up to 2 years with minor stone chips. Depends on driving habits. If you decide to remove it, you can apply a lil force and it comes off all at once. Treat it as though its a colored protectant, insulates and rubberized your items

Finally we have DipYourCar.com.my

A really clean and smooth job bro! Already pro.

the texture is exactly like plasticised rubber rite? same material as what they use to coat plier handles rite?

would be interesting to see how well it does if a truck bed was dipped...not just the top...i mean dip the whole tuck bed lining in this...then u have an all round coating...

but it will peel off if we put stuffs inside n drag the stuffs around.

yep....which is why i said dip the whole truck bed liner in this...so it wraps around the entire liner something like how the plier's handle is wrapped...

Will show some of my work, when done, most probably middle of CNY will be able to post. Till then. Gonna hunt more plastidip

Those rubber truck liner cant use PD... If you been to Gardens MV before on level 4 the Premier parking has rubberized floor paint. Should suffice. Paint shop should have those.... I think they're different rubber compound. No pro ler, I just like hands-on DIY on what I can. Research here and there n try out. More satisfaction compared to just paying money to get done.

my customer requested Dipping his grill, emblems and smoking the taillights, left out the foglight chrome rings for later. This was all done before a total 22PLE Ultra Hard Glass Coating

My First Trial given to the Front Grille of my car...

It was 1st day of CNY and limited time available as I started up quite late in
the evening around 5.15pm.

Realised light is not really sufficient anymore but I can wait no more.
Got a reunion dinner at 7pm.

So, as a token of appreciation to PocRocket bro in introducing me Plastidip and
also his guidance, here are my work for your viewing pleasure.

All advice are much appreciated.

My ideas at 1st to do up my BLM, not sure what came up my mind to finally just
give a shot at my Corolla front grille instead.

Ya, is my 1st time and I became a daredevil, straight try on the front grille instead
of emblems 1st

Was kinda afraid to pull the trigger at 1st, but then here are the photos of the
process from the beginning...

BEFORE PlastiDip

Preparing for PlastiDip Spray Job

http://i860.photobucket.com/albums/ab162/Supra_1996/PlastiDIP/IMG-20130210-01335.jpg

Start up by putting on Masking Tape and some newspapers. What I noticed is that,
best to use Masking tapes that is solid in colours rather than this semi-transparent
type, afraid it might go thru since is kinda absorbent.

As you can see, some of my newspapers are tape too close to the part where I'm
gonna plastidip, which end up half way spraying, some of the masking tape started
to come off and the newspaper is blocking some of the edges.

So just tape wider range for the sides around the part that you are gonna plastidip.
Then only paste those newspapers on to protect other parts from overspray...

Plasti-Dip 1st Coat

http://i860.photobucket.com/albums/ab162/Supra_1996/PlastiDIP/IMG-20130210-01336.jpg

:hmmmm: Ya...my 1st coat, doesn't look good and some parts kinda missed it.
After watching plastidip tutorial again, I knew where I went wrong.

Anyway, is my 1st time. So be it.

Complete 4 coats of Plasti-Dip

http://i860.photobucket.com/albums/ab162/Supra_1996/PlastiDIP/IMG-20130210-01337.jpg

Job done in 1 hour+ each coats are left to dry in 15 mins which I think is not sufficient enough but due to
time limitations, each coats was advise to let dry at least 15mins.

Complete Plasti-Dipped

http://i860.photobucket.com/albums/ab162/Supra_1996/PlastiDIP/IMG-20130211-01338.jpg

Job done, but a little too plain to my liking, need to see some Bling Bling on it....

That's all from me folks...happy Plasti-Dipping.

Awesome! Insight Club also started dipping their grille's already. Actually 1st coat dont need to be heavy or even...as long as about 50% transparency, the other coats will cover it up. At the last coat i like to apply a slightly heavier one, but thats my preference... So the spray speed is slowed down by half of the regular pass.
