a friend of mine was an ex-neighbour of the swapped firebird. (3-4 years ago). He saw shown the "nissan inside". I did drop by his house & spotted the firebird, but the owner wasnt around hence I couldnt varify with my own eyes of the swapped nissan. could be the same car we are referring too, maybe not.

but to maintain one isnt as easily then as it is now. (source from net)

I also know of a rare classic car triumph TR7 that was swapped with a 2JZ engine. (light blue). the thing is ;
it is common to see very rare cars that has been swapped with japanese engines (as by far easier to look for parts then scouting half a planet away fo it).

true true ,if the pontiact dont swap with nissan engine and reamins the v8 engine
the maintanence will cost 2/3 times more expensive than japan engine
and the road tax also cost a bomb
the 1 u spoted is it blue colour like the 1 in the pic?

question; lets say owner of the Muscle car swap an japanese engine (turbo) no problems with JPJ?

<-- not an expert

it was bluish green, but from the picture posted its blue.
anyway 4 years ago was a long time, colour can change, maybe he found another V8 or rebuilt it since. who knows.

but a high majority classic car owners would swap something else to to get it running again unless the "purist" classic car owners (which probably has lots time & loads of money to inject to his project)

remember the rare old merc car (one datuk) who spend millions to redo / rebuilt one. it was a priceless piece. (published in NST before)

Although its leafspring suspension makes driving through uneven roads a very uncomfortable experience.

I know you got this from watching the top gear Clarkson review. Top Gear, and especially Jeremy Clarkson, generally gets a lot of info and facts wrong and they can be VERY biased or present things in a misleading way. Top Gear is very entertaining but I can list something they get wrong factually almost every show.

While the Z06 does have a leaf spring in its suspension it is state of the art and shares nothing with typical parallel packed leafs. It is a single carbon composite TRANSVERSE leaf not used to hang the suspension. It is actually superior to coils since it is much lighter in weight. The Corvette rides quite well actually, better than a Ferrari regardless of what Jeremy Clarkson says. I have personally ridden in a Ferrari 360 and a 2006 Z06 and can tell you the Corvette rides as good as the Ferrari. Here is a photo of the rear suspension of a z06, try and spot the "antiquated leaf springs".

Top Gear/Clarkson also complained about the fuel mileage of the Z06 when in fact it has an EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) rating of 41 kilometers (26 miles) per gallon highway.

That’s incredible for a 7.0 liter engine. That is better than the tiny 1.3 liter Mazda RX-8 and the 3.5 liter Nissan 350z/fairlady and the 4.3 liter Ferrari 430. The EPA rates the Mazda at only 38 kilometers per gallon, the 350z at 40, and the Ferrari at 25.

the topgear also did a 'torque test' on the corvette
i forgot is the Z06 or the C6

the torque is so great that
the car can go from 0 to topspeed in one gear, the 6th gear..
imagine that.
jeremy clarkson aslo say he is amaze of the amount of torque.

Funny that. Because although I am a fan of Top Gear, I do have ability to judge for myself and have other sources at my disposal, the internet for example. I do know about the Vette's composite leaf spring setup and if you saw a few more of my posts, you'd find that I am one of the few here that have sung it praises, especially it's remarkable small block V8 engine.

Anyway, back on the ride of the Z06. Suffice to say, Clarkson and Top Gear aren't the only people to complain about the ride of the Z06. I have not had the priviledge to have been in a Vette or a 360 and therefore have to rely on the opinion of others. Your opinion therefore goes into the stack along with the rest that I have read, seen or heard.

hahaha i think need to wait till the car become antique then only got ppl will get the car in hehehe

AHHHHH!!!! why swap the V8 for nissan engine?!?!?! that is crazy... WASTE!!! V8 engine is bloody angelic!!

and yea, jeremey is a ultimate poster boy for the rich and dumb. hahaha. very very one sided oppinions. c'mon, he moved fords to the cool/subzero side of the board because he wanted his ford GT, and that was a deal made. the car models he chooses to test is very buyest as well. Z4m up against a SRT10. hmmm.. seeing as he took the M model of Z4 why doesn't he take out the Hennesy version of the viper. as a matter of fact, why doesn't he bring the bloody enzo up against the hennesy. hehehe, now that will be a good fight. but ok, to be fair, most american cars are boats on the road/track. hehehehehe jeremey is jus a big kid with a magnifying glass

The cool wall has always been a non-serious, totally subjective segment. Purely for a laugh. People who take it seriously need help.

BTW, they were joking about Jeremy sucking up to Ford to get his GT for almost an entire series.

The whole Top Gear is about blokes and petrolheads being what they are. And people with good judgement should be able to know what to take seriously and what not to, in terms of what they say or do. And Clarkson has described himself as a big kid many a times. In fact, all petrolheads who professes to love cars should agree that we are all just a bunch of big kids.

The Z4M had around 340bhp. The SRT10 has 500bhp and a damn site more torque. The advantage should be the SRT10's. So I don't know what you are on about.

And the Z4M happens to be a "stock" BMW despite being highly tuned. The Hennessy Venom on the other hand is a tuner effort.
