I got news that Proton will launch the new SRM model during the Malaysian F1 next month......woooo let's see !!

Pak Lah has his points - proton belongs to malaysian ppl!! this is bcos the reason proton survived so long is bcos of malaysians subsidising the company buying cheap-lak cars for almost 20 years....

from wat i see the only way to make proton improve is STOP buying proton cars until they come up with some good cars.

sad to say malaysian ppl are just pitiful, they moan and complain over poor quality of proton cars but still, ppl are buying saga models with new facelift - the same old stupid chasis and engine as those 15 years ago but for almost double the price. ppl are stil buying wira/satria that looks the same since 12-15 years ago.....

my knowledge about car manufacturers are limited but from wat i see, even Kia which i consider the same level as proton comes up with new model every 3-4 years....

i believe other than proton, all other car manufacturer who are not competitive had suffered badly, the reason proton can survive this long is because of proud malaysians supporting the company - by buying something which is not worth for the $$ they pay for.... by buying second grade products where all first grade products are being exported to overseas....

Malaysia Boleh!!

True true..... Proton come out with alot of models ..... all different names.... but same cars...

we also can't pertahan ourselves, still wanna pertahan proton, oh man, like calling us to go suicide, lol

dont angry yet

brother before we complain about our own people buying our lousy and expensive local cars...think of this...how much would a same spec car imported from oversea would cost the consumers after the AP and import tax charges applied to the car...
who would want to spend 45k buying a 2nd hand used car when for around 30k they can buy a iswara new car...compare new and 2nd hand eventhough the new lousy iswara dont even worth 10k...
and did you know our so called proud malaysian cars are selling cheaper oversea but here in malaysia the price is kept increasing...by the way...just take a look at www.topgear.com (a car review magazine in UK) and hear about how the complain about our local cars...
yes keep protecting the local car by subsidising them...they will never learn to defend on themself...the money used to help proton is coming from the malaysian income tax!!!what benefit did proton bring to us???selling us used junks from japan so we can convert engine and at the end get caught by JPJ for illegal transplant...Malaysia has very cheap and good supplies of food and other basic necessity...but our automotive industry is still below very bad...it is a waste of time!!!
our local car like WAJA...said to be the newest and advanced car...but use condemned old engine from Mitsubishi...
our lovely perdana V6...very big and elegant...but uses condemned gearbox which even the japanese guy said this gearbox has a lot of problems and is no longer in use in japan...thank you...

those oldies in the company should be fired, and bring in fresh ppl to produce radical, strange cars to sell.

I think from the news article it's clear who's to blame.

i personally think, we should be proud of proton. not many asia countries are capable of producing cars other than japan, korea, china, india.

pertahan as best as we can.
do not look down on us, come on...when we respect our own product then only other countries can show respect.

i do agree, proton and the G do make situation difficult but imagine we are in their seats...what would we do? same thing or even worse maybe.

now that proton had bind MoU again with mitsubishi, i look forward to seeing proton cars with GDI engines...if not MIVEC. then known as PIVEC.

or Proton Intelligent and Innovative Variable Valve Timing and Camshaft Lift Copycat = PIVEC

i am proud that we have our own national car.
but its the product of 20 years in the industry is wat im not really proud of.

i seriously think they can do better...
i can take crappy looking cars..slow cars..even a car with 3 wheels..

but buck up on the quality control.

Zan: no PIVEC la..it CAMPRO.... :)

throw all those old bags that sit on the managements team for so long and put those ppl from R3 lo.... better... WAJA with SR20? hehehe.....

must use PIVEC laa..becoz under licensed from Mitsubishi's MIVEC.

waja with SR20? i am thinking waja should have been out of production already becoz 6 years age is just too old. new model should had been released last year or at least in the pipe line.

WAKE UP proton!

KAMI: The people who actually stand to benefit from Proton's existence, which is certainly not the rakyat.

How dare they say Proton belongs to the people when we still get taxed for buying a Proton car? A Malaysian car for the people should be tax free and selling at half the price it is selling now. The fact that so many are still riding around on kapchais is proof of how affordable the "rakyat's car" really is.

proton dont belongs to rakyat la... if not, we wont be buying the cars so expensive... people keep buying proton although we know its weaknesses because its some sort like a tradition already... for example, why malaysian cant really accept other country lifestyle??... its the same with buying cars... we are afraid to try new things... we afraid that we lose our money investing in a lousy car... afterall, proton are recognized by many malaysian as 'reasonable' product.... (well, of coz we petrol heads dont think like that)... at least the one paying (mak bapak uncle aunty) think like that....

complaint to much mean nothing...u have money go and buy Jap or Conti car, dun have money...wut to do... iswara, saga means a lot! worse or not it depend on our perception... thinkin' of production globally, we're like just a lil' child.... others bullying us coz of our failure! who's da' failured? think with ur brain not eye ball! cheers...

hahaha...Proton is Malaysia's pride, therefore Malaysian should defend proton's pride?? please la.....

How do you explain UK's spec protons is cheaper yet have good spec compared to Malaysia spec proton, not to mentioned a lot more expensive than UK protons?

I think many Malaysia ppl have been taken for a ride quite many-many times liow....
