rayncc..K&N is still the one of the most recommended drop-in aftermarket performance air filter for the Altezza. I have been using the K&N filter since the day I got my car. It wont "disintegrate" and fall apart and it can be clean and last a very very long time.
Go buy it and you will be happy and not worry about replacing it again. But you must clean the filter when it is dirty with the K&N cleaning kit.

Hi Greytezza for the 'endorsement' on the K&N. Any advice best place to get it? Am afraid of imitations if dont get from reputable shops. Any place in PJ and KL will be ok for me.

If the filter comes in a K&N original box, then it is original. I got mine from Trial Tuning in Sg. Besi KL. You can call William of Trial to check the price and stock..his number is 012 213 9861.
Most of the time, many of the K&N dealers dont have stock for Altezza becos we are a rare breed of cars in Malaysia...

well, the word disintegrated may be overly exaggerative.
The Tom's drop-in is sponge-like materials, with larger pores on the outer side. What i meant was the outer sponge have 'decayed' and started to break away.

Based on service records, the drop-in is currently clocking 34,000km in mileage. Hmm, my guess is that K&N should be more durable, but not sure about the performance though. That's why seeking member's feedback..:hmmmm:

last time tom's vision sunway told me that the tom's drop in panel filter shall last for 40,000km~50,000km ... hmm... overrated? or due to harsh/polluted air condition perhaps?

True, could be due to our poor air-quality. Now for the replacement will opt for K&N.

I've been using the TOM's drop in filter for quite sumtime already, i can say years...Until now no problem at all or whatsoever.
