Disabled, ignored and exploited

WHEN our local taxi drivers see a disabled person trying to flag them down, more often than not, they turn a blind eye.

“If you are a disabled person, chances are you will go unnoticed in Kuala Lumpur”, is what the disabled have been telling the media and friends.

We put this to the test to gauge whether cabbies are sensitive to the needs of the disabled.

good idea dude, maybe i shall teach disable ppl the samurai move and ask them to equip kanata on the back of their wheel chair.

not a bad idea..

dont forget to take some cash frm the driver for ur taxi ride home

I don't see how cabbies here have a right to refuse passengers. Far as I'm concerned, they are providing a public service and if anything, we as passengers have rights.

Indeed they do not have the right to refuse handicapped passengers. The authority ought to or I think they actually can take action against such taxi drivers and their companies. Public transport is for everyone and is not limited to normal people. Sheesshhh, they even try to slaughter normal people, what more to say the handicapped? Taxi drivers who are crooked should start changing for the better. If this continues, they won't even get a single cent as no one would be willing to take a taxi in the future.

aiyoh..these fellas all trying to take advantage of the handicapped la..
just to help em' into the taxi also want to charge em' more..wth..

as long they're being paid fr the services they're providing.is enuf..
