Wira 4G15 here...

My car FC is 11.62km/l daily. Is this normal? Usually driving about 28km to work and 28km back. Also going through 2 hills in between and hell, the pick up is drowning. :(:(:(

That's quite ok considering you have uphill a lot.

ok what your FC. Mine full tank manage only 300km. Oh by the way I am driving 3 speed dinasour age gearbox Wira.

good fc.

anyway heres some advise to make ur 4g1 more FC frenly (advise from a otai) :

push the intake rocker arm shafts backward, ikat 22lbs of torque. Adjust the valve tappet to :intake 0.25mm, exhaust 0.35mm.

the intake rocker arm shaft with 4 intake rocker arms. U see, the rocker arm shaft is "adjustable", loose all the 12mm screws, need 2 people to do this:; one guy push backward, while the other guy retorque all 12mm sxrews at 22nm-lbs using torque wrench. Then, the intake valves tappet: 0.25mm, exhaust 0.30mm. easily u can gain 0.5bhp to
set the rpm to 4500rpm, play with the air screw until it really smooth then rev to redline see got kentut or not but before that make sure the step timing is not less than 19, not more than 20.

Make sure the fuel pump is not chap helang or you will suffer fuel starvation at 5th gear@5000rpm. If its g15= 180kmh is nothing. If its 1.3=175 is the max and pls changw its fuel filter every 5k km and always check the ngk plugs from any carbon residue.

Retain original plug cable. You will get 550-600km/full tank on highway provided the exhaust is stock. Better mileage with proper exhaust. Matspeed cam 278 scattered camshaft very cheap. Forget weber or you'll puncture a rather large hole everytime you refuel.

1. Piston material: Aluminum alloy, steel, iron, cast iron, nodular iron, alloy etc.
2. Piston surface treatment: Chrome plated phosphate, gas nitride, sand, blasted etc.
3. Piston characteristic:

Hi there,

Just manage to find this forum :p

Need advice on which cams to go for:-

1) matspeed 272/280/282/288
2) squirt cams 288
3) powerzone 264

Current Setup 4g15 with :-

- stroker kit
- iridium plugs
- drop in wire mesh
- 4-2-1 hotbits
- customs 2 inch center pipping with built-in bullet (not sure of this setup)
- back box s-flow (changing to hotbits straight flow back box)
- afc neo (changing to e-manage blue)
- Injectors are standard (thinking of changing to mivec injectors 240cc)

Do let me know if my setup can be improved.

Thanks in advance.

Hi there guys.
I just remembered this place. Good to know there are still people modding 4G1series.
I'm currently running a VDO on my 4G15 (stock car, what do.) Does putting a piggyback ECU affect it a lot? I've heard stories about VDO being hard to bypass and similar stories.

No point using a piggyback. The stock VDO is already quite efficient. It can handle most NA mods without tweaking. So can save money.

Thing is, I'm running an auto tranny, which from what I heard limits the revs. Sort of explains why I'm not getting high revs even when I floor it. What can I do to bypass it though?

What limit you talking about? I used to have a Wira SE Auto and later swapped to manual, etc etc. The auto I would hit the limiter on the track which is 6.8k rpm. Ok la.. how high you want to rev?

There's lots of things you can do with an auto. The 3-speed auto is surprisingly tough.

I'll admit that I've never went on a track. Most I've went is probably in the region of 5k. Not sure if it's my driving technique though. Also, I've never went above 150 before, even when I'm told Wira can do 160/170 yadayada.
1 more question though, is it wise to downshift (aka select other gear than D) just to accelerate?

There is a bit of discussion bout that here @ this thread:biggrin:

Go to that other thread (http://www.zerotohundred.com/newforums/car-talk/427396-manually-using-the-auto-gear-6.html) to talk. I wrote a lot there already. My car (engine not stock la but still NA) could get 180km/h on the auto. But the thing is why would you need to go that fast?
