Oval is st185 tvis...bulat is st205 non-tvis

if try to mix 'n match this 2 engines better start crying kekek
 
wah no boost cut ahh...

how u eliminate ur boost cut ha.i heard my friend said must mods the ecu.
 
st183 got 4ws,also got tapak for rear axle ngam² fit,i'm using mr2 gear box now but watch out a lot things 2 modified..radiator fan,cable gear,cable gear holder,most difficult is drive shaft,keep my word u WILL have problerm with d short 1 my no is 0162922236 Bret
 
fren told me he did b4.....and shouldn't be any problem....but will see what happen later on......this week will try to tow the car for paint job on the eng bay....next week only masuk workshop.....

i'm also using the mr2 g/box, really need a lot modified... for me only the drive shaft problems...:frown: changed 3 times already...
 
shud be, both runs on 3s block, the only drawback cud be the driveshaft. one guy in Oz used the 202 box, using AE111 driveshafts with a modded knuckle.
 
Hi guys; my car still slippin'.. am using 171 gearbox.. plan to change it to MR2.. so can i mate it with existing 171 driveshafts? dosent matter its LSD or not.. coz havent the real power of 3s.. since in install my engine...

emm.. am selling my 16" DTM wheels.. 10 holes.. 100/114.3 PCD.. any takers?
 
yes,the st171 driveshaft can modified n plug with the mr2 g/box... coz i'm using it now...
 
No u cant mate it... the mr2 gearbox's driveshaft input (or whatever they call it) may not match your 171 d/shaft's inner ends ( the inner ends are the end that goes into the gearbox while the outers are what goes into the knuckle). Its a no match in terms of the 'gigi' count/or perhaps size.

The only solution is u can swap that inner ends to match, or custom made them. If u plan to swap, leave the outer ends alone since its already match to ur knuckle. Inner ends that may fit; of course from mr2 d/shaft, supercharger MK1, well thats all i can think off. But note that u may need to custom made the 'batang' also if its not in the right length.

Unless you have celica, be it 182/183 or 185, if you plan to use MR2 g/b, you can directly swap the inner ends between the MR2 and GT4 driveshafts, since the GT4 d/shaft batang is already in the right length and the outer ends already fit ur knuckle.

But in the end, u still have to find and buy a pair of those MR2 d/shaft, unless u plan to custom made them to fit. (so figure out which option cost more). So if ure planning to buy the E153 g/b, make sure to bundle it up with the shafts.
 
Like Levin92 mentioned, the driveshaft can be modified. :D

But beware:
(this is for alvin), i found this in other forum someone mentioned that ST205 driveshaft cannot fit into ST18x.

MR2 LSD and non-LSD driveshafts are different. So which ever gearbox you find make sure it comes with the driveshafts, or at least the inner ends.

Get the drive shaft when you buy the gearbox. Else good luck finding MR2 SW20 LSD driveshafts on it self. :p
 
the inner end i used back the original mr2 n the outer end i modified with the st171 d/shaft...

till now i cant find the mr2 LSD d/shaft!!!
 
wah thanks guys.. btw.. currently i'm using my original driveshaft.. my ori engine 3SGE auto.. now 3SGtE with st171 GB. must finish my a174 project 1st..
 
Hehe MR2 owners all stocking up parts ley... sure cannot find just the drive shaft.
