DIY GROUNDING

eneos selling pretty cheap!!! rm55 i think for a 5 point grounding kit! thick wire some more, duno how many gauge, but sure thicker then 8gauge!

everything nicely terminated

zeronix, you won't feel the car heavier if you did it right. so far i only grounded 2 points, alternator to car chasis, this 1 i really see the difference, the voltage was from 10~11++ increased to 12.8 ~ 13++ with a/c on, and the second point is from engine block to the firewall , this 1 i don't feel any imporvement in performance coz the car originally has a tiny ground wire on this point, i juz replaced it with a ticker wire, by the way i'm using copper lug.

Hi guys, i have a question. What if the battery is located in the car boot ? The ground wire must attach to the battery ?

i think you need a long wire connect from your battery -ve terminal to the car front body.... and from there you just ground all the other grounding wire to there.... just 2 cent.... haha :D

connect all the point u want to be grounded to one point (at front bonet), then connect the one one to ur battery at rear boot.....this will save a lot of grounding cable.... [/b][/quote]
bro, the reason i post here is b'coz i wan to get rid of this tiring process la  .
After my 1st experiment i can see significant improvement without connecting wire from battery -ve at the boot to front, but the voltage still not stable, always jumping between 12++ to 13++, a friend told me normal should between 13.8 to 14.1. ( his car also more than 10 yrs old, with amp, sub woofer n meters some more <_< ) i wan to see the number 14.1 showing on my meter also!!

okie, will check on the cables then... maybe just reground them or just chnaged the lugs to copper...
now rpm idle not so stable. startup (above 1K rpm) , then after a while(800rpm) before groundin dun have this effect. could be coz of TB al well, need to check on this.

where is the actual place to connect the cable to alternator and distributer????

if got picture is better!!!!!!
thanks alot!!!

sometime u get shock doesn't mean it's because of ur car.

my theory, when i never go office, i won't get shock at all, but once after working hour and i reached home ... i'll always got shock. i guess my office has a lot electric aorund ~ <_<

i've just grounded the alternator. but cant find any place to ground the GB, where can i find the nut. tried to remove a nut from the GB and saw some oil leakin , quickly tighten it back.*phew*
still haven had the chance to test the car yet... let u guys know the results.
still thinkin wanna chage the lugs i've used from steel to copper lugs..*sigh*
what u guys think?

hi all,
just wanna confirm something,... b4 installing VS or grounding the voltage fluctuate.. after grounding wont help on fluctuate thingy. after installing VS then have stable voltage.. correct??
just installed a digital volt meter... alwiz see the voltage from 12.1-13.8 or more... :)

hei where can i buy the 8gauge power cable???
i can't find it in most of the electric shop!
they told me to search from car accessory shop

;) go pasar rd.. ;last time i bought it at rm2.5 per meter..this is the non transperant one. If the one like acc shop selling will be RM 3.5. Make ur choice.

yo guys.. dat day i bought a grounding kit from Enoes at 1U for rm58..

well.. i installed it myself to my wira.... it took me bout 30-45mins to locate n install de wires.....

locations grounded from batt -be terminal
1. car body near wiper motor
2. intake manifold
3. distributor
4. alternator
5. car body near intake manifold (center of engine bay)

pics r not available now.. mayb i'll post some other time...

well.. after installign it... de most obvious thing i feel is de ICE improved a lot especially on the bass... i get heavier bass... well others like engine idling is okok... power increase dun fell anything lar... lastly it makes my engine bay look nicer lor.. :D
