stupid "Victory" sign....

Someone started a thread about the fairer sex doing poses with the cuter side of their faces...well, it got me thinking about people posing for a photo shoot....

Why do people always like to show the "V" sign when they are being photographed? Especially during group photos?

What does the "V" means? Victory?
Personally , I hate seeing this kind of poses. What do you think?

Lets hear some comments.

the 'V' with your palm facing you is the same as the middle finger salute. In fact the British consider it to be more insulting that the middle finger. Famous example: Winston Churchill's 'V' sign, which was meant as an insult at the Germans and not a 'victory' sign. I always find it funny when people who don't know this do that pose in their pictures.



The 'V' with your palm facing outwards (or the 'victory' sign) has catholic origins. Examples: Catholic paintings of Jesus etc.

In medievel europe..british long bowmen were feared all over europe, when any were captured by french troops etc..they would cut off thier 2nd, and 3rd fingers so they coudlt use the bow any more..

so english archers started using the V sign to insult and taunt enemy troops...

so yes if you do it the wrong way its very insulting to brits..
